Country Manager / Director – Ghana

Astria Learning | Accra, Ghana (with in-country travel) | Full-time | Reports to: CEO & Global Operations Manager

Astria Learning is an edtech company that partners with universities and institutions to deliver digital learning solutions — including online program development, learning management platforms, digital libraries, and student enrollment services. Our mission is to help institutions expand access to quality education at scale.

We are looking for a commercially driven, senior leader to own and grow Astria Learning's business in Ghana. As Country Manager / Director, you will be the face of the company in-country: building high-value institutional partnerships, leading a local team, and driving sustainable revenue growth across Ghana's higher-education sector.

---

What you'll do

Business development & revenue

  • Own and deliver Ghana's annual revenue target; build and manage the full partnership pipeline from initial prospecting through to signed contract.
  • Identify, negotiate, and close partnerships with universities and higher-education institutions for online programs, LMS deployments, digital library services, and enrollment solutions.
  • Represent Astria Learning at the highest levels — vice-chancellors, registrars, ministry officials, and sector bodies.

Government & regulatory relations

  • Manage relationships with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), the Ministry of Education, and other relevant regulators to ensure program accreditation and ongoing compliance.
  • Monitor the regulatory landscape and proactively advise HQ on policy changes that may affect operations or strategy.

Team & operations leadership

  • Recruit, lead, and develop the local team across business development, enrollment, and support functions; set clear targets and manage performance.
  • Oversee delivery of active partnerships: launch timelines, enrollment growth, partner satisfaction, and contract renewals.
  • Manage the Ghana office and ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly.

Reporting & market intelligence

  • Report weekly to HQ on pipeline status, revenue progress, risks, and market intelligence; maintain accurate and current CRM records.
  • Track the competitive landscape and recommend strategy adjustments as the market evolves.

---

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years of experience in business development, sales leadership, or general management, including at least 3 years leading a team — Ghana-based, with strong local networks.
  • A proven track record of closing large B2B or institutional deals in Ghana, in higher education, edtech, telecoms, banking, or a comparable sector.
  • Comfort operating with full P&L-style accountability and remote HQ oversight, taking initiative and making sound decisions independently.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and written communication skills in English.
  • A bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly across Ghana.

---

Nice to have

  • Existing relationships within Ghana's higher-education ecosystem — universities, GTEC, or the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Ghanaian Universities.
  • Prior experience in edtech, digital learning, or education services.
  • Familiarity with accreditation processes and regulatory frameworks for tertiary education in Ghana.

What we offer

A competitive base salary plus performance-based incentives, meaningful senior leadership autonomy, and the opportunity to play a defining role in expanding access to digital education across Ghana.
